Dust Moto, a Bend, Oregon-based electric dirt bike company, was acquired by LiveWire Group, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. LiveWire acquired the assets of Dust Moto and is advancing the company’s electric dirt bike platform toward production.

Dust Moto, which was advised on the sell-side by Bell Lap Advisors, was founded in 2023 by Colin Godby, Neil Tierney and Jarett Volkoff, who had previously worked together at UBCO. The company’s Hightail is a lightweight electric dirt bike with a swappable battery, built to sit between the eMoto category and full-size motocross machines, and quiet enough to open up land where noise restrictions apply.

LiveWire Group, Inc. is a NYSE-listed electric powersports company whose majority stockholder is Harley-Davidson, Inc. The acquisition extends LiveWire beyond on-road electric motorcycles into the electric off-road market, alongside its STACYC electric balance bike brand. LiveWire said it intends to bring the Dust platform to market using its engineering capabilities, manufacturing scale, and global marketing, sales and service network.
